Cello lessons are available on weekdays and weekends in Bellevue and Sammamish. I teach all age groups and skill levels, from beginners to advanced cellists.
Each student is unique in his strengths and weaknesses. Every student has a different preferred learning style. As an instructor, I analyze student's ability individually and tailor the lessons to help her develop into her own artist.
Lessons encompass Cello repertoire, as well as technique, ear training, and sight-reading. These foundational music education are spread across many lessons, whenever appropriate, at every stage of learning. I believe that by establishing a strong musical foundation a student's appreciation for music will be enhanced, both as a listener and a performer.
I believe in regular performances for my students. Performing publically builds confidence. I encourage all my students to participate in recitals offered throughout the year. Solo recitals take place in December and June. I also like to take my students to perform at retirement homes, especially around the holidays.
Besides learning exciting cello repertoire, I also prepare my students for local youth symphony orchestra placements (Bellevue Youth Symphony Orchestra, Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra and Renton Youth Symphony Orchestra). Many of my students have won auditions in All-State Honor Orchestra and All-State Junior Orchestra. Some of my students also participate at Seattle Young Artist Festival, Eastside Performing Arts Festival, local Solo and Ensemble Festivals. Many of my students have received merits and distinctions from ABRSM and RCM Exams.
Lesson time can be 30, 45 or 60 minutes. Tuition is due the first week of the month. Please give me 24-hour notice when cancelling a lesson.
